REVIEW: "WHAT WOULD GOOGLE DO?"

This book is written by Jeff Jarvis, renowned American journalist, considered himself geek. Jeff Jarvis divides his work on the Google universe into two parts: first write 10 chapters on what he considers that Google provides social and business development, second develops another 10 chapters that explores how 9 sectors of activity would be if were governed by the guidelines of Google that described above (the media, advertising, trade, goods service, manufacturing, services, money, public welfare and public institutions); the tenth chapter ( twenty without we all) would engages in public relations and lawyers, unruly branches considered by Google as well as God and Apple, which are set as reference only exceptions philosophy diametrically opposed to Google, but still work to perfectly with their own rules.

Is it worth reading and thinking about Google with this book? Yes. Clearly yes. The writing of the author, or perhaps the translation are not agile and entertaining, and stupid arrogance stripe style, but soon discovers he's a forced style to highlight the essence of Google: No matter how, what amount is to communicate, connect, interact, fully open and unafraid to everything around you, to any site that Google can take you. Only then, playing what he calls Googlejuice (I found this link which hangs an interesting presentation of the book, and what Googlejuice points on slide 61), leads to a new world in which there are new and numerous knowledge and business opportunities.

I reproduce the last paragraph of the book. It is a perfect summary of its contents: "When we talk about the age of Google, we refer to a new society. The rules explored in this book, Google rules are the rules of this new society, built on connections, links, transparency, openness, public, listening, trust, wisdom, generosity, efficiency, markets, small groups, platforms, networks, speed and abundance. This new generation and new world view will change the way we view the world and relate to it, and the way in which business, government and institutions interact with us. And this change has just begun. I want to know what results you get. I am delighted to be here today with you to witness his birth. "

We are at the beginning of a new era. We are in the prehistory of a new moment in human history.

Google is not everything. It is not God. Even Apple, with a philosophy radically opposed to that of Google, is a universe in itself desired by society. But Google certainly represents a growth path and opening for people like never before. Google wants to be the gateway not to his world, if not a landscape, a stage on which we can do two things: keep watching without representation or access to the platform and take a role. And what role? The we want. The key is to understand that if we do not understand that this scenario, this paper, this function will be, even as is, the real life ... we will stay in the chair forever and will be the actors and actresses who will see us as alien to the true work .

If Google is not there. No. This is not the proposal of Jarvis in his book. Your proposal and focus its success is Google you will see that part of this new way of life is the evolution towards a greater enjoyment, faster, more complete life.

Before reflecting on this issue ... did not understand the dimension of the on-line. Now ... I see with some clarity some things.
